# Set Up Agentforce Vibes

When you open Agentforce Vibes for the first time, the **Getting Setup for Success** checklist walks you through the prerequisites in order. Agentforce Vibes checks each step automatically and moves to the next when it's ready. Complete all the required steps before you start using Agentforce Vibes.

## Prerequisites Checklist

Agentforce Vibes checks each prerequisite sequentially and shows a status next to each item: **Ready**, **Not ready**, or **Optional**.

### Salesforce CLI

Install the Salesforce CLI (`sf`) to interact with your orgs. Agentforce Vibes uses the CLI to connect to your org, deploy metadata, and run commands on your behalf.

If the CLI isn't on the latest version, Agentforce Vibes blocks set up and prompts you to update before you can proceed.

To install or update the Salesforce CLI, see the [Salesforce CLI Setup Guide](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.sfdx_setup.meta/sfdx_setup/).

### Salesforce Extension Pack

Install the Salesforce Extension Pack for VS Code. The Extension Pack provides the core Salesforce development tooling that Agentforce Vibes builds on.

If the Extension Pack isn't on the latest version, Agentforce Vibes blocks set up and prompts you to update before you can proceed.

To install the Salesforce Extension Pack, search for **Salesforce Extension Pack** in the VS Code Extensions Marketplace.

### SFDX Project

Open a workspace that contains a valid `sfdx-project.json` file. Agentforce Vibes requires a Salesforce DX (SFDX) project structure to understand your project layout and resolve metadata paths.

If this step isn't ready, Agentforce Vibes opens the command palette automatically. Run **SFDX: Create Project** and follow the prompts to generate a project with a valid `sfdx-project.json`.

### Connected Org

Authenticate at least one Salesforce org. Agentforce Vibes uses your connected org to access metadata, run queries, and deploy changes.

To authenticate an org, run:

```bash
sf org login web --alias <org-alias>
```

### Explore the Experience (Optional)

Take a quick tour of the core loop. You can complete this step at any time after setup.

## What's Next

After all the required steps show **Ready**, Agentforce Vibes is ready to use. Open the Agentforce Vibes panel and start a conversation in the Chat tab.
