# Install Agentforce Vibes Extension

Agentforce Vibes extension is available in the [VS Code](https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=salesforce.salesforcedx-einstein-gpt) and [Open VSX](https://open-vsx.org/extension/salesforce/salesforcedx-einstein-gpt) marketplaces as a part of the [Salesforce Extension Pack](https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=salesforce.salesforcedx-vscode) and the [Salesforce Extension Pack (Expanded)](https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=salesforce.salesforcedx-vscode-expanded). Agentforce Vibes is enabled by default. Any developer with access to a Salesforce org can use the extension to generate code from natural language instructions, get coding suggestions in Apex and LWC using inline autocomplete, or generate Apex unit tests to quickly accomplish required code coverage goals.

### Required Editions

**Available in**: Developer, Enterprise, Partner Developer, Performance, and Unlimited Editions.

**Inoperable in**: Group, Professional, and Essentials Editions.

**Not Available in**: EU Operating Zone and Government Cloud. EU Operating Zone is a special paid offering that provides an enhanced level of data residency commitment. Agentforce Vibes is supported in orgs in the EU that aren’t part of EU OZ, per standard product terms and conditions.

## Pre-Set Up Checklist

Before you begin, ensure that your development environment meets these requirements.

### Visual Studio Code Version

VS Code releases a new version each month with new features and important bug fixes. You must be on the version of VS Code that's currently supported by us. See [Minimum VS Code version](https://github.com/forcedotcom/salesforcedx-vscode/issues/6449) for more information. You can manually check for updates from **Help** **> Check for Updates** on Linux and Windows or **Code > Check for Updates** on macOS.

### Extension Versions and Other Prerequisites

Extensions that are part of the Salesforce extension pack get updated automatically when the extension pack is updated. If you haven’t updated recently or automatic updates are disabled, confirm that your installed version of the Salesforce CLI Integration and Apex extensions are up-to date. Also:

- You've installed the latest version of [Salesforce CLI](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.sfdx_setup.meta/sfdx_setup/sfdx_setup_install_cli.htm) using the official installer for Mac or Windows, or you have `Node.js` version 22 or above installed.
- You have a Salesforce DX project open. To create one, see [Create Project](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/platform/sfvscode-extensions/guide/create-project.html).
- You're connected to a Salesforce org. See [Change or Open Your Default Org](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/platform/sfvscode-extensions/guide/default-org.html).

## Install Git (Optional)

Checkpoints require Git. Install Git on your machine so that snapshots of your workspace can be created as you work, enabling rollbacks and change tracking across tasks.

Download Git: https://git-scm.com/downloads

After installation, confirm that Git is installed by running this command in a terminal:

`git --version`

## Disable Agentforce Vibes in a Salesforce Org

From Setup, enter `Agentforce Vibes` in the Quick Find box, then select **Agentforce Vibes**.
**note:** If you don’t see Agentforce Vibes as an option under Setup in your org, it’s probably not available in that edition.
Disable Agentforce Vibes to prevent the extension from being used in VS Code when this org is the default org.

## Enable or Disable Agentforce Vibes in VS Code

You can enable or disable Agentforce Vibes from within Visual Studio Code. Click the Agentforce Vibes icon in the status bar to open the command palette, then click enable or disable.
The Agentforce Vibes status icon in the bottom panel of the Visual Studio Code window indicates whether Agentforce Vibes is enabled or disabled.

## Disable or Uninstall Agentforce Vibes Extension

You can disable or uninstall the Agentforce Vibes extension at any time. Bring up the Extensions view by clicking the Extensions icon in the Activity Bar in VS Code or the **View: Show Extensions** command (⇧⌘X). Search for "Agentforce Vibes" in installed extensions list, and then select **Disable** or **Uninstall**.

## Enable Telemetry

Telemetry helps monitor and audit Salesforce Generative AI functionality. In Code Builder, you must enable telemetry to use the Agentforce Vibes extension. However, after you've enabled the extension, you can then disable telemetry if you want. To enable telemetry, follow these steps:

1. Go to **Settings** and search for `salesforcedx-vscode-core.telemetry.enabled` to confirm that this Salesforce telemetry setting is on in your workspace.
2. If the setting isn't on, select the checkbox to enable telemetry.
3. Next, search for "telemetry", then choose **all** from the dropdown menu for the **Telemetry\:Telemetry Level** setting.
4. Open a terminal and run `sf config set disable-telemetry=false --global` to enable CLI telemetry. See [Salesforce CLI Data Collection and Metrics](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.sfdx_setup.meta/sfdx_setup/sfdx_dev_cli_telemetry.htm) for more information.
5. Run **Developer: Reload Window**.

## Use Agentforce Vibes IDE

Once your org's admin accepts the Agentforce Vibes IDE terms and conditions, Agentforce Vibes IDE is available from the Settings menu in your Salesforce org.

## Use Agentforce Vibes in a Scratch Org

Agentforce Vibes is available in these scratch org editions that can author Apex:

- Developer Edition
- Enterprise Edition

It's enabled by default in scratch orgs created from Dev Hub orgs with Agentforce Vibes enabled.

To disable Agentforce Vibes in a scratch org:

Edit the `config/project-scratch-def.json` file in your DX project and add:

```
"settings": {
  "AgentforceForDevelopersSettings": {
  "agentforceForDevelopersOptOut": true
  }
}
```

Agentforce Vibes is then disabled in new scratch orgs.

## Interaction with Other AI-enabled Extensions

If you have multiple AI-enabled extensions installed in VS Code, you can run into some unexpected generated code outcomes. We recommend you disable all other AI-enabled extensions when working with Agentforce Vibes:

1. Click the Extensions icon in the Activity Bar, then search for the extension to disable by name.
2. Click **Disable** in the extension's marketplace page.
3. Repeat for all installed AI-enabled extensions.

## Keyboard Shortcuts for Agentforce Vibes

You can use the default keyboard shortcuts in Visual Studio Code when using Agentforce Vibes. You can rebind the shortcuts in the Keyboard Shortcuts editor using your preferred keyboard shortcuts for each specific command. For more information see [Key Bindings for Visual Studio Code](https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/getstarted/keybindings).

You can search for each keyboard shortcut by command name in the Keyboard Shortcuts editor.

| Command                   | Key Binding |
