# getToken()

Returns an application configuration token referenced by name. A tokens file is configured with the `tokens` attribute in the `<aura:application>` tag.

## Signature

`getToken (String token)`

## Parameters

**_token_:** Type: `String`. The name of the application configuration token to retrieve.

## Returns

**Type: `String`** application configuration token.
