# isInstanceOf()

Checks whether a component is an instance of the given component or interface name.

## Signature

`isInstanceOf(String name)`

## Parameters

**_name_:** Type: `String`. The name of the component or interface, with a format of `namespace:componentName`.

## Returns

**Type: `Boolean`** Returns `true` if the component is an instance, or `false` otherwise.
