# Handlebars Block Helper: impressionRegion

Use the `impressionRegion` block helper to define an impression region in a message.

Impression tracking helps you track the performance of messages that contain dynamic content. Use the name of an impression region to view reporting data for that region.

## Availability

This helper is available in the Winter ’27 release of Marketing Cloud Next.

## Syntax

```handlebars
{{#impressionRegion name}}
  ...
{{/impressionRegion}}
```

## Parameters

| Parameter | Type   | Description                                                                             |
| --------- | ------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `name` | String | Required. The name to assign to the impression region. Specify only in the opening tag. |

## Return Value

The block helper doesn’t produce any output.

## Usage Example

This example opens two impression regions, one nested inside the other, and then closes one of them.

```handlebars
{{#impressionRegion "Body"}}
  {{#impressionRegion "Promo"}}
    <p>Save 20% on your next order!</p>
  {{/impressionRegion}}
```

The block helper doesn't produce any visible output. The one closing tag in this example closes the innermost region, which is the "Promo" region. The "Body" region remains open until it's closed. If an open region is never closed, then it automatically closes at the end of the message.
