# AMPscript API Functions

Use the AMPscript API functions to interact with the [Marketing Cloud Engagement SOAP API](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/marketing/guides/mc-apis/web_service_guide.md).

This table lists all the AMPscript functions related to the SOAP API. The value in the Engagement column indicates whether Marketing Cloud Engagement supports the function. The value in the Next column indicates whether Marketing Cloud Next supports the function.
