# Get Started with SLDS Linter

Linting involves analyzing your code ‌and highlighting issues in it. To get started linting your code with SLDS Linter, follow this developer workflow and choose resources that match your learning style.

## 1. Discover

SLDS Linter is an installable npm package that analyzes your code against Salesforce Lightning Design System 2 (SLDS 2) rules. SLDS Linter rules are also integrated into Salesforce Code Analyzer. SLDS Linter offers suggestions to better align your code with SLDS 2 guidelines and make it more future-proof. SLDS Linter can also apply the suggestions in bulk across your repository and automatically fix your code.

Use SLDS Linter to find UI violations if you're working on SLDS 1, SLDS 2, or transitioning from SLDS 1 to SLDS 2.

While both SLDS Validator and SLDS Linter scan your code and offer suggestions for improvement, SLDS Linter provides these advantages.

- Set up easily and get started faster.
- Bulk-fix your code by using a single command.
- Scan your code against SLDS Linter rules using Salesforce Code Analyzer via the CLI or the VS code extension.
See [Use SLDS Linter Rules with Salesforce Code Analyzer](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/platform/slds-linter/use/use-work-with-code-analyzer.md).
- Uplift your code to the latest Salesforce design system, SLDS 2.

See [SLDS Linter on Salesforce Lightning Design System 2 website](https://www.lightningdesignsystem.com/2e1ef8501/p/012d73-slds-linter).
