# Query Records with GraphQL

The GraphQL API schema contains a subset of types that allow you to query records. With the `RecordQuery` type, each Salesforce object corresponds to a `RecordQuery` field of the same name, such as `Account` or `Case`. You can [filter](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/platform/graphql/filter/filter.md) records with the `where` argument, [order](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/platform/graphql/order.md) results with the `orderBy` argument, and [paginate](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/platform/graphql/paginate.md) through the response using the Relay Connection specification.
