# `REPEAT`

**Applies to:** ✅ Data 360 SQL ✅ Tableau Hyper API

Repeats a string a specified number of times.

## Syntax

```sql
repeat(<string>, <count>)
```

## Arguments

### Required

- `<string>`: The string to repeat.
- `<count>`: The number of times to repeat.

## Returns

Returns a text value that contains the repeated string.

## Considerations

- If count is 0 or negative, returns an empty string.
- Large counts may consume significant memory.

## Examples

### Repeat String

Repeat a string multiple times.

```sql
SELECT repeat('Hyper!', 2) AS result;
```

Returns `'Hyper!Hyper!'`.
