# Prepare Your Tridion Connection

Before you create a Tridion connection, complete these prerequisites. The Tridion connector uses a Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) staging area to transfer your content to Data 360 and requires Secure Shell (SSH) key authentication. Create a staging area, generate an SSH key pair, and gather your connection details.

## Find Your Username and Hostname

After you create the staging area, Data 360 provides a username and hostname. Tridion requires this information to configure your connector in Tridion.

1. In Data 360, click **Setup**, and select **Data Cloud Setup**.
2. From the left navigation menu, click **Staging Area**.
3. From the staging area details page, locate the **Username** and **Host Name**.
4. Copy and save these values in a secure location. You need to give this information to your Tridion Support Representative.

## Configure Tridion Publication

Prepare your publication as follows:

- Web Help / HTML5 Output required: You must use a configured Publication Output based on the Web Help format (which natively compiles to a compressed archive). Other output formats are currently not supported by Data 360.
- Publication Root Map restriction: Any topic that is not explicitly structured within your publication's Root Map (or nested sub-maps) will be ignored by the publishing pipeline.
- Baseline and Status requirement: Content must be fully saved and checked into the repository. Only topic versions tied to the active Baseline or meeting the mandatory Approval Status will be compiled. Local or uncommitted changes will be excluded.
- Automated ZIP Packaging: Data 360 expects to receive a ZIP archive containing the output. The Tridion Publishing Engine handles compression automatically via server-side plugins. Once the task is complete, download the final compressed archive directly from the Output tab in Publication Manager (or Organize Space) to send to Data 360. Ask your support representative for assistance if required.

Contact your Tridion support representative. Ask them to help you configure
a method to publish content to the Data 360 staging area over SFTP.

You will need to give the support representative:
- The **Host Name** from your [Staging Area](#find-your-username-and-hostname).
- The **Username** from your [Staging Area](#find-your-username-and-hostname).
- The **Private Key** from your [Generate an SSH Key Pair](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/data/data-cloud-int/c360-a-data-cloud-integrations.md#prerequisite-generate-an-ssh-key-pair)
