# Set Up a Connection to Meta Ads Manager

Create activation targets and activate your Data 360 segments to Meta Ads Manager.

**note:** This process is a multi-step solution that can require different roles and permission sets to complete in Data 360 and Meta Ads Manager.

1. [Create an advertising account on Meta Ads Manager.](https://www.facebook.com/business/help/407323696966570)

2. [Set up an external activation platform](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_connect_external_activation_platform.htm&type=5) - Configure platform parameters, authentication details, and required mappings.

3. [Create an external platform activation target in Data 360](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_create_external_activation_platform_activation_target.htm&type=5) - Define an activation target by specifying the destination system, data mapping, and scheduling details.

4. When redirected to Meta, select the ad account where you want to activate user segments. The authentication method used is OAuth 2.0 with a picklist of accounts where the user has permission. 5. Click **Enable** to turn on the activation target.
