# Set Up a Jira Structured Connection

Create a connection to ingest data from Jira into Data 360.

| User Permissions Needed |                                                             |
| ----------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------- |
| To create a connection: | System Admin profile or Data Cloud Architect permission set |

:::

Before you begin:

- Review [IP addresses](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_data_cloud_ip_address_allowlist.htm&type=5) to make sure that the Jira connector has the necessary access.

1. In Data Cloud, click **Setup**, and select **Data Cloud Setup**.

2.  Under Configuration, select **Connectors**.

3. On the Source tab, select **Jira** and click **Next**.

4. Enter a connection name, connection API name, and provide the authentication and connection details.

5. For Authentication Details, first select an Authentication Method from the dropdown.

    1. For API token, enter a username and an API token. To generate an API token in Jira and learn more about their importance, see [Using Personal Access Tokens](https://confluence.atlassian.com/enterprise/using-personal-access-tokens-1026032365.html).

    2. For Named Credential, select a **Named Credential** from the dropdown.

    3. For both, optionally add an SSL Server Certificate.

6. For Connection URL, enter the URL of your Jira site. The URL ends with .atlassian.net (e.g., {yoursitename}.atlassian.net).

7. To review your configuration, click **Test Configuration**.

8.  Click **Save**.

After the connector details are accepted, the connection is created and ready to use. It’s listed under Connectors. You can now create data streams.
