# Create a Platform Events Connector Data Stream (Beta)

Start the flow of data by creating a data stream for your Platform Events Connector data source. The data stream creates a data lake object (DLO) in Data 360 that you can map to the Customer 360 Data Model to use across Data 360. After it is created, the data stream ingests new events. Events that occurred before your data stream is created are not ingested.

**note:** This feature is a Beta Service. A customer may opt to try a Beta Service in its sole discretion. Any use of the Beta Service is subject to the applicable Beta Services Terms provided at [Agreements and Terms.](https://www.salesforce.com/company/legal/agreements/) If you have questions or feedback about this Beta Service, contact the Data 360 Connector team at [datacloud-connectors-beta@salesforce.com.](mailto:datacloud-connectors-beta@salesforce.com)

Before you begin:

- Make sure that the required Platform Events Connector connection is set up.

1. In Data Cloud, on the Data Streams tab, click **New**.

You can also use App Launcher to find and select **Data Streams**.

2. Under Other Sources, select the Salesforce Platform Events connection source, and click **Next**.

3. Select from the available Salesforce Platform Events connections.

4. Select an event you want to monitor from the available events and click **Next**. Repeat the process for each event to add.

5. Under Properties, choose **Engagement**.

6. Select the values for:

Event Time field - Defines the time of the event in Data 360. The time the event was generated from Salesforce such as the EventDate field.

Primary Key - The primary key lets Data 360 uniquely identify a record. This is the Event Identifier field on the events coming in from Salesforce. Under supported fields, choose any fields you want to be streamed into Data 360. You can also select all fields.

7. Assign a name to the Data Lake object in the Data Lake Object Label field and click **Next**.

8. Select the refresh mode for receiving the data stream. To keep inserting new records, select **Incremental**.

9. Select the frequency of data streaming under the Schedule section.

10. Click **Refresh Data Stream Immediately** to start streaming right after deploying the stream.

If this option is not selected, streaming still occurs at the chosen frequency, but does not begin immediately upon deployment of the stream.

11. Click **Deploy**.

12. After the data stream is created, navigate to the data stream from the Data Streams tab.

Records get populated when events are generated in the Salesforce Org. Access the streamed Data Lake objects and records by clicking the Data Explorer tab.

13. You can also create a custom Data Model Object (DMO) that maps to your Events data lake object.

14. After your event DMO is created, you can feed the DMO to Data Cloud processes.

For example, create Calculated Insight on the event DMO to efficiently analyze event data and quickly identify any potential risks.
