# Data 360 Integrations

**note:** As of October 14, 2025, Data Cloud has been rebranded to Data 360. During this transition, you may see references to Data Cloud in our application and documentation. While the name is new, the functionality and content remains unchanged.

Learn about how data is ingested, connected, and integrated with Data 360 through connectors, connector services, integrations, enterprise data, and strategic partners.

## Data In: Data Sources

Data sources are connected into Data 360 via a connector that ingests data into Data 360 or through zero-copy data federation which syncs data from external sources to Data 360.

## Data Out: Data Targets and Data Shares

After data is manipulated, harmonized, or segmented in Data 360, data can be sent to targets such as an SFTP or shared with integrations, such as Snowflake.

## Bidirectional

Some connectors offer the ability to connect data into Data 360, others allows share of data out of Data 360, and others offer bidirectional functionality.

## Working with a Staging Area

Some connectors run where the source content tool initiates the process.
When this happens, it pushes the content or changes to Data 360.
Connectors of this nature require a Staging Area.
Use these steps to create a Staging Area in Salesforce.

### Prerequisite: Generate an SSH Key Pair

Before you create a staging area, generate an SSH key pair. The public key goes to Data 360. The private key stays on your computer. Flare uses this key when publishing.

**Mac and Linux**

1. Open a terminal.
2. Run this command:
   ```
   ssh-keygen -t rsa -b 4096 -C "your_email@example.com"
   ```
3. When prompted, enter a file path to save the key, or press **Enter** to accept the default (`~/.ssh/id_rsa`).
4. When prompted for a passphrase, press **Enter** to leave it empty (no passphrase is required).
5. The process creates two files: the private key (for example, `id_rsa`) and the public key (for example, `id_rsa.pub`). Note the file paths: you need them in a later step.
6. To view your public key, run:
   ```
   cat ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub
   ```
   Copy and save the output in a secure location. You paste it into Data 360 in the next section.

**Windows**

1. Open **PowerShell** or **Command Prompt**.
2. Run the following command:
   ```
   ssh-keygen -t rsa -b 4096 -C "your_email@example.com"
   ```
3. When prompted, enter a file path to save the key, or press **Enter** to accept the default (`C:\Users\<YourUsername>\.ssh\id_rsa`).
4. When prompted for a passphrase, press **Enter** to leave it empty (no passphrase is required).
5. Two files are created: the private key (for example, `id_rsa`) and the public key (for example, `id_rsa.pub`). Note the file paths — you need them in a later step.
6. To view your public key, run:
   ```
   type C:\Users\<YourUsername>\.ssh\id_rsa.pub
   ```
   Copy and save the output in a secure location. You paste it into Data 360 in the next section.

### Create a Staging Area

The push connectors use an SFTP staging area to receive content published from your content source. Before you create a connection, set up a staging area in Data 360.

1. In Data Cloud, click **Setup**, and select **Data Cloud Setup**.
2. From the left navigation menu, click **Staging Area**.
3. Click **New**.
4. Enter a name for the staging area.
5. For **Connection Type**, select **SFTP**.
6. Paste your [SSH Public Key](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/data/data-cloud-int/guides/flare/c360-a-prepare-your-flare-connection.md#generate-an-ssh-key-pair) and give it a name and **Save** your changes. You can add multiple keys.

**note:** The SSH RSA public key is a text string made of three main parts: an algorithm identifier (ssh-rsa), a long block of Base64-encoded binary data containing the math numbers (e and n), and an optional comment (like an email address). When you paste the key, include the two equal signs (==), but do not include the email address. For example, if your key contains:
           `ssh-rsa [block of binary data]== sfdc\[email-address]-LTW1`, paste:
           `ssh-rsa [block of binary data]==`.
