# Monitor the Cloning Process

Track the progress of clone operations and view details about cloned sandboxes in Control Center.

## View Source Sandbox Status

Once the clone is initiated:

1. The **source sandbox** shows status **Cloning** in the instance list.
2. All actions for the source sandbox are temporarily disabled.
3. The cloning process includes these stages:
   - **Prep Instance**: Validation and preparation
   - **Data Backup**: Creating consistent snapshot
   - **Data Restore**: Provisioning and restoring data
   - **Post Validation**: Configuration and activation
4. When cloning completes, the source sandbox returns to its previous state (Running or Stopped) and all actions are re-enabled.

## View Cloned Sandbox

As the cloned sandbox is created:

1. The **target sandbox** appears in the instance list with status **Setting Up**.
2. When setup completes, the status changes to **Running** (if clone succeeds) or **Failed** (if clone fails).
3. A **Clone** badge appears next to the cloned instance. Click the badge to view clone details:
   - Source instance identifier
   - Target instance identifier
   - Clone timestamp
   - Storefront count
   - Custom code version
   - Database size
   - File system size
