# Day in Week, Month, Quarter or Year Functions

Use the following functions to find the position of a day within a week, month, quarter, or year.

Date position functions take this syntax.

SELECT EXTRACT (FUNCTIONNAME FROM DATE) AS DATEALIAS
FROM DATASET;
```
