# String Operators

To concatenate strings, use the plus sign (+).

| Operator | Description |
| -------- | ----------- |
| `+`      | Concatenate |

## Example

To combine the year, month, and day into a value that’s called `CreatedDate`:

`q = foreach q generate Id as Id, Year + "-" + Month + "-" + Day as CreatedDate;`
