# atan(n)

Returns the arctangent value of radians value _n_. _n_ can be any real numeric value in the range of -1e308 \<= _n_ \<= 1e308. If `null` is passed as an argument, `atan()` returns `null`. This function can only be used in a `foreach` statement.

q = foreach q generate atan(radians) as arctangent;
```
