# Set Up the New Document Global Action

To let your users create a document no matter where they are in Lightning Experience, add the New Document global quick action to your global publisher layouts.

### Required Editions

With the New Document action, your users can click ![global action "+" icon](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-xcloud-anywhere_app-264-0-0-production-enus/c0406050-7b26-469a-9dc5-10d6c0c9c576/anywhere_app/images/global_actions_menu_icon.png) and select **New Document** from anywhere in Lightning Experience. Users can link their documents to Salesforce records, collaborate with their team, and add the things they know and love such as @mentions, Salesforce data mentions, and spreadsheets.
