# Process Transaction Journals in Batches by Using Flow Action

Use the Run Program Process for Transaction Journal action in Flows to process transaction journals in batches. This action only processes the transaction journals whose status is Pending.

### Required Editions

In the action, ensure that you provide the IDs of one or more pending transaction journals. Also ensure that you populate the Journal Type field for transaction journals. If program processes in your org also filter transaction journals based on journal subtype, ensure that you populate the Journal Subtype field.

Depending on the journal type and subtype of each transaction journal, the action triggers active loyalty program processes. The loyalty program process whose journal type and journal subtype match that of the transaction journal is triggered. After the transaction journal is processed, its status changes to Processed.

The points balances of members that are associated with the transaction journals are updated as soon as points are either credited to or debited from the member. You don't have to turn on the settings to update points balances in real time.

Tip If you process a high volume of transaction journals in batches, use Batch Management jobs to ensure that transaction journals are processed by the flow in manageable chunks.
