# Partner Connect Setup Prerequisites

Vendors and partners must work together to complete several prerequisites before beginning Partner Connect setup in Salesforce.

### Required Editions

Partners aren’t required to purchase any licenses to use Partner Connect.</td></tr></tbody></table>

    To avoid revisiting the Partner Connect setup, we recommend that vendors and partners agree on a clear plan to integrate objects and fields across Salesforce orgs. Vendor admins kick off planning by creating a list of the items that they want to integrate into the partner’s org. Sometimes admins from either org need to customize their Lead or Opportunity objects to integrate records smoothly.

    For partner users to export records, partners must have permission to access the record from the vendor’s Experience Cloud partner site. Before you begin Partner Connect setup, we recommend that vendor admins check that partner users have the level of access that the vendor wants.
