# Migrate Your Components to Omnistudio Standard Runtime Using the Omnistudio Migration Assistant

The Omnistudio migration process helps you reduce package dependencies and migrate Omnistudio components such as Flexcards, Omniscripts, Data Mappers, and Integration Procedures from the Vlocity Industries managed package or Omnistudio foundation package runtime to the Omnistudio standard runtime. This process also helps you migrate custom labels, Omni Global Auto Numbers, and related objects such as Apex classes, FlexiPages, Experience Cloud site pages, Lightning web components (LWCs), and custom labels.

The Vlocity Industries managed packages include Insurance (INS), Communications, Media, and Energy (CME), and Public Sector (PS).

The Omnistudio foundation packages include Omnistudio package.

Note This migration process does not involve migrating from one Salesforce org to another org.

The migration is performed using the Omnistudio Migration Assistant, which automates and guides you through the process for a smooth transition.

## Data Models and Runtimes

In Omnistudio, a data model is the metadata that consists of components such as Flexcards, Omniscripts, Data Mappers, and Integration Procedures.

Omnistudio uses two data models:

- Custom data model: Used within Omnistudio managed package, which includes the Vlocity package (`vlocity_ins`, `vlocity_cmt`, and `vlocity_ps`).
- Standard data model: Used within Omnistudio standard, which includes the Omnistudio package.

The runtime describes the look and feel of the configured Omnistudio components.

Omnistudio supports these runtime environments:

- [Omnistudio managed package runtime](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.os_omnistudio_for_vlocity.htm&type=5&language=en_US)
- [Omnistudio standard runtime](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.os_omnistudio_standard.htm&type=5&language=en_US)

The standard data model supports both managed package and standard runtime environments. However, the custom data model supports only the managed package runtime.

| Data model | supported in Omnistudio Managed Package Runtime | Supported in Standard Runtime |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Custom object | Yes | No |
| Standard object | Yes | Yes |

- **[About the Migration Process](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.os_migrate_about_migration.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
The migration process uses the Omnistudio Migration Assistant to move components such as Flexcards, Omniscripts, Data Mappers, Integration Procedures, custom labels, Omni Global Auto Numbers, and related objects such as Apex classes, FlexiPages, Experience Cloud site pages, Lightning web components (LWCs), and custom labels from managed package runtime and Omnistudio Foundation package to the Omnistudio standard runtime. This makes sure that the components from industry packages such as Insurance (INS), Communications, Media, and Energy (CME), and Public Sector (PS) match the standard runtime, easing maintenance and upgrades.
- **[About the Omnistudio Migration Assistant](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.os_migrate_about_oma.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
The Omnistudio Migration Assistant is a Salesforce CLI plugin that helps automate the migration of Omnistudio components such as Flexcards, Omniscripts, Data Mappers, and Integration Procedures from the Vlocity Industries managed package or Omnistudio Foundation package runtime to the Omnistudio standard runtime. This process also helps you migrate custom labels, Omni Global Auto Numbers, and related objects such as Apex classes, FlexiPages, Experience Cloud site pages, Lightning web components (LWCs), and custom labels.
- **[Omnistudio Migration Prerequisites](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.os_migrate_oma_prereq.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Before you start any Omnistudio migration, review these setup requirements and preparatory steps. These checks ensure your org is ready for a successful migration and help you identify any manual updates needed before running the Omnistudio Migration Assistant.
- **[Install the Omnistudio Migration Assistant](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.os_migrate_install_oma.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
The Omnistudio Migration Assistant is a command-line interface (CLI) plug-in that you install using Salesforce CLI.
- **[Migrate Omnistudio Components from Vlocity Industries Managed Packages and Custom Data Model to Omnistudio Standard Runtime](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.os_migrate_omnistudio_custom_objects_to_standard_objects.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
The Omnistudio migration process migrates components such as Flexcards, Omniscripts, Data Mappers, Integration Procedures, Omni Global Auto Numbers, Apex classes, FlexiPages, Experience Cloud site pages, Lightning web components (LWCs), and custom labels from the Vlocity Industries managed package runtime (custom data model) to the Omnistudio standard runtime (standard data model). Moving to the Omnistudio standard runtime involves migrating components from the custom data model used in Vlocity Industries managed packages to the standard data model. The Vlocity Industries managed packages include Insurance (INS), Communications, Media, and Energy (CME), and Public Sector (PS). The migration is performed using the Omnistudio Migration Assistant, which automates and guides you through the process for a smooth transition.

The Omnistudio migration process helps migrate components such as Flexcards, Omniscripts, Data Mappers, Integration Procedures, Omni Global Auto Numbers, Apex classes, FlexiPages, Experience Cloud pages, Lightning web components (LWCs), and custom labels from the Vlocity Industries Managed Packages and standard data model to the Omnistudio standard runtime. The migration is performed using the Omnistudio Migration Assistant, which automates and streamlines the process to ensure a seamless transition to the standard runtime environment.

The Omnistudio migration process helps migrate components such as Flexcards, Omniscripts, Data Mappers, Integration Procedures, Apex classes, FlexiPages, Experience Cloud pages, Lightning web components (LWCs), and custom labels from the standard data model and Omnistudio foundation package to the Omnistudio standard runtime with Omnistudio Metadata setting enabled. The migration is performed using the Omnistudio Migration Assistant, which automates and streamlines the process to ensure a seamless transition to the standard runtime environment.
