# Create a New Static Resource (Managed Package)

For the managed package runtime, after you have downloaded and edited the default static resource, the next step is to bundle and upload the new static resource.

1. Create a folder on your computer and place the .html file in the folder.
2. Compress the folder into a .zip or .jar file.
3. Change the file extension to .resource.
4. Go to Setup.
5. In the **Quick Find** box, type static, then select **Static Resources**.
6. Click **New**.
7. Specify a **Name**.
8. Click **Choose File**, browse for and select the file, then click **Open**.
9. Set the **Cache Control** to **Public**.
10. Click **Save**.
