# Manage Org Responsibilities

The Org Responsibilities page in Setup lists your org's Security Contact, Primary Admin Contact, and, if applicable, Partner of Record. Salesforce uses this information for org- or account-level communications such as security notifications and product or success plan updates.

Keep your contacts and partners specific to the org that you're logged in to, and update them whenever they change. Because Salesforce can use this information for either org-level or account-level communications, choose contacts who can represent both. If you don't provide information for all the Org Responsibilities sections, Salesforce reminds you regularly when you go to Setup.

## Security Contact

The person or team that Salesforce notifies in a security incident.

Associated fields: Name, Email, Phone Number, Last Updated, Status

## Primary Admin Contact

The go-to person or people for product and account communications. The Primary Admin Contact is a lookup to one or more active users in the org.

Associated fields: Name, Email, Phone Number, Last Updated, Status

## Partner of Record

The service providers that handle strategy, implementation, or maintenance for your Salesforce org. If your org isn't self-managed, the Partner of Record can be Salesforce Professional Services, a Salesforce Consulting Partner, or a third-party service provider. When you add an active Salesforce Consulting Partner as a Partner of Record, you can also provide consent for Performance Data sharing. This consent helps the Consulting Partner better understand how to optimize your org's settings, usage, and consumption.

Associated fields: Service Provider Type, Name, Performance Data sharing preference, Last Updated

## Org Responsibility Fields

| Field | Applies To | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Name | Security Contact, Primary Admin Contact, Partner of Record | This field is required. For Security Contact, this field accepts free text for the full name or team name. For Primary Admin Contact, Salesforce automates this value based on the user you select in the lookup field. For Partner of Record, if the Service Provider Type is Salesforce Consulting Partner, you select the value from a picklist of active Salesforce Consulting Partners. |
| Email | Security Contact, Primary Admin Contact | This field is required. For Security Contact, this field accepts free text for the contact's email or distribution list. For Primary Admin Contact, Salesforce automates this value based on the user you select in the lookup field. |
| Phone Number | Security Contact, Primary Admin Contact | This field is required. For Security Contact, enter the phone number of the contact or team. For Primary Admin Contact, Salesforce automates this value based on the user you select in the lookup field, but you can edit it manually if needed. |
| Last Updated | Security Contact, Primary Admin Contact, Partner of Record | Salesforce automates this value based on when you last edited or confirmed the Org Responsibility record. |
| Status | Security Contact, Primary Admin Contact | This value defaults to Active, and specific events update the status to invalidate a record, such as a bounced email or a user deactivation. |
| Service Provider Type | Partner of Record | This field is required. First, you can specify whether your org is self-managed. For self-managed orgs, you can't specify a service provider. If your org isn't self-managed, the Partner of Record can be Salesforce Professional Services, a Salesforce Consulting Partner, or a third-party service provider. |
| Performance Data sharing preference | Partner of Record | This field is required if the Service Provider Type is Salesforce Consulting Partner. When you add a Salesforce Consulting Partner as a Partner of Record, you can provide a Performance Data sharing preference. If you provide consent for Performance Data sharing, Salesforce shares Performance Data with that Consulting Partner. This sharing helps the Consulting Partner better understand how to optimize your org's settings, usage, and consumption. You can update your data sharing preference by editing the appropriate Partner of Record. |
