Note You can use passkeys to log in with Touch ID or Face ID, Windows Hello, a device PIN or password, password managers, or security keys. Security keys are small physical devices that store passkeys.

## Access Passkey Management Pages

Log in and go to your [personal settings](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.basics_nav_personal_settings_lex.htm&language=en_US). From here, you have two options to view and manage passkeys.

- In the Quick Find box, find and select **Passkeys**. If you get a blank page, try [switching to Salesforce Classic](https://salesforce.vidyard.com/watch/ce6K2VzisWo2TSXddCayCM) or clearing your browser cookies.

- Can’t find the Passkeys page? From your personal settings, find and select **Advanced User Details** instead. Find **Built-in Authenticators**. You can see your registered passkeys there, including security keys.

If you don't see a security key, look for **Security Key (U2F or WebAuthn)** on this same page.

## Add Passkeys and Security Keys

For important considerations and detailed steps, see [Create a Passkey](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.register_built_in_authenticator.htm&language=en_US).

You can add passkeys from either passkey management page.

- From the Passkeys page: click **Add Passkey**. For security keys, you can click either **Add Passkey** or **Add Security Key**.
- From the Advanced User Details page in the Built-in Authenticators section: click **Add**. For security keys, you can click either **Add** in the Built-in Authenticators section or **Register** in the “Security Key (U2F or WebAuthn)” section.

## Disconnect Passkeys and Security Keys

Delete passkeys that don't work or that you no longer use.

1. If you're currently locked out of your account, see [Access Your Account When You Can't Use a Passkey](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.mfa_passkey_account_lockout.htm&language=en_US).
2. When you’re logged in, go to your [personal settings](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.basics_nav_personal_settings_lex.htm&language=en_US&type=5) and access your passkeys from the Passkeys or Advanced User Details page.
3. To delete a passkey or security key:

    - From the Passkeys page: click **Delete Passkey** or **Delete Security Key**.

    - From the Advanced Users Details page in the Built-in Authenticators section: find your passkey and click **Del**. If you can't find a security key in this section, find the “Security Key (U2F or WebAuthn)” setting on this page and click **Disconnect**.
4. To log in quickly next time, [create a new passkey](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.register_built_in_authenticator.htm&language=en_US).

In addition to entering your username and password, you’re also prompted to provide a verification method that helps prove your identity. You can register several types of verification methods for your account, including authenticator apps, built-in authenticators, and physical security keys. You can also use a registered verification method if you receive a device activation challenge because you’re logging in from a browser or IP address that Salesforce doesn’t recognize.")

With passkeys, you have multiple ways to log in: fingerprint or facial scanners on your device, physical security keys, a device PIN or password, or password managers. Some passkeys work only on the device where you set them up. If you set up a device-bound passkey on your laptop, you can’t use it to log in from your phone.
