Loyalty Program Member records can be merged and unmerged only when the records match a set of predefined conditions. Review the conditions before you use actions in Flow Builder to automate membership merging and unmerging.
Required Editions
| Available in: Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, Developer, and Unlimited Editions that have Loyalty Management enabled |
Prerequisites for Merging and Unmerging Memberships
- The setting to consolidate member points for expiration in real-time or in batches is enabled.
- The Aggregated Fixed Non-Qualifying Points in Expiration
Ledgers Data Processing Engine definition is used to consolidate member points for
expiration.
The status of Loyalty Aggregated Point Expiration Ledger records that contains details of members’ points expiration dates changes to Inactive after memberships are merged.
- The Roll Over Escrow Points to Members Data Processing
Engine definition must be run for both memberships before the merge.
After memberships are merged, the last escrow processed date of the target membership’s currencies are set to the latest last escrow processed date between the two memberships.
Memberships aren't merged when the membership with the earlier last escrow point credit date has loyalty ledgers that have an escrow point credit date between the last escrow processed dates of the two memberships. For example, if the source membership's last escrow process date is January 1 and the target membership's last escrow process date is January 15, the memberships can't be merged if the source membership has loyalty ledgers with an escrow point credit date between January 2 and January 14.
Conditions for Merging Two Memberships

- The status of the memberships is active.
- The transaction journals and loyalty ledgers associated with both memberships are available in the instance and aren't archived or deleted.
- The memberships are of the same type: Individual or Corporate.
- The memberships are associated with the same loyalty program currencies.
- The source member must have 2,000 or less related Transaction Journal records
- The memberships are part of tiers of the same tier group.
- The memberships aren't part of any membership groups.
Conditions for Unmerging Memberships
- The status of the membership is merged.
- Vouchers that were transferred when merging the membership can’t be redeemed by the target membership or have expired.
- The loyalty program currency of the memberships that were merged is the same.
- The target membership’s points can’t expire or be debited after the merge
- Accrual or Redemption type transaction journals that were transferred when merging the memberships haven't been reversed.
- The benefits or the tier of the membership that the memberships got after merging hasn’t changed.
- Points of the member whose memberships were merged weren't rolled over from the escrow points balance to the points balance.
