Available in: Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions with Loyalty Management

The Membership Lifecycle related list is available on Loyalty Program Member records. Loyalty program managers or customer service representatives can manually create and update Loyalty Membership Lifecycle records to track membership change events. Loyalty program managers can also automate the process of creating and updating Loyalty Membership Lifecycle records by using the Create or Update Records action in a loyalty program process rule. Or, admins and developers can use flows or SOAP API to create or update Loyalty Membership Lifecycle records by using membership data that’s updated in external systems.

You can track these through a Loyalty Membership Lifecycle record:

  • Type of the membership change event
  • Status of the membership change event
  • Duration of the membership change event
  • Order used to track the member’s purchase
  • ID of the membership change event from an external site

You can also categorize membership change events. After you decide your change event categories, admins can add them as picklist values for the Membership Type field in Object Manager. If your change events have statuses like upcoming or expired, admins can add the statuses as picklist values for the Membership Status field.

Example
Example A loyalty program wants to track two membership status change events. One event is a paid tier that members can purchase from the company’s website. The other event is a free subscription that the loyalty program offers to members who make purchases worth $1,000 in a quarter. In the first case, an integration is set up between the Salesforce org and the company’s website to create Loyalty Membership Lifecycle records whenever a member purchases a tier from the site. For the free subscription, a rule is created in an Accrual type loyalty program process. The rule checks if members have made purchases of over $1,000 in a quarter and creates a Loyalty Membership Lifecycle record for the members who match the criteria.
