Define rules for crediting or debiting members' balances with currency subtypes, and track the associations for debit, credits, cancellations, and transfers.
Example The Cloud Kicks Inner Circle loyalty program has a non-qualifying currency called
Member Points, which members accrue for purchases. Cloud Kicks now wants to enable the points
traceability functionality. The loyalty program manager creates three currency subtypes:
Reward Points, Bonus Points, and Partner Points.
| Currency Name | Currency Type | Expiry Model | Currency Subtypes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Member Points | Non-qualifying | Fixed |
Reward Points Bonus Points Partner Points |
- How Currency Subtypes Are Credited
Use the Credit Points action in a loyalty program process or flow to credit members with points for currency subtypes. Select the currency subtype associated with a traceable non-qualifying currency. When an accrual transaction journal is processed, the Credit Points action credits the member’s points balance. Track the details of the currency subtype and points credited in the related loyalty ledger. - How Currency Subtypes Are Debited
Use the Debit Points action in a loyalty program process or flow to debit member points. To process redemption transactions, define the sequence in which currency subtypes are used. - How Accrual Cancellations Are Processed
When an accrual transaction is canceled, the member’s balance must be debited with the points they accrued. So, accrual transactions are canceled only if there’s sufficient balance, including the negative point balance. - How Redemption Cancellations Are Processed
When you cancel a redemption, the member’s point balance is credited with the number of points initially redeemed. So, a corresponding credit-type ledger is created for the canceled redemption. At the same time, all debit ledger traces are removed from the Traceability Loyalty Ledger object.
