# Enable Processes and Rules to Inherit Status in Target Orgs

Deploy loyalty program processes and their rules in the same status as defined in the LoyaltyProgramSetup metadata type. This means that if a process and its rules are active in the source org, they are in active status in the target org. Transferring processes and rules between orgs in their original status reduces post-deployment effort.

The **Inherit Process and Rule Status in Target Orgs after Deployment** setting controls how rule statuses are applied during a LoyaltyProgramSetup metadata deployment.

With the setting turned off, rules that were previously deployed are set to Inactive in the target org when the package is redeployed. With the setting turned on, all rules deploy in the same status as defined in the source metadata.

In the target org where you want to deploy processes and rules, peform these steps to turn on the setting.

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Loyalty Management, and then select **Loyalty Management Settings**.
2. Turn on Inherit Process and Rule Status in Target Orgs after Deployment.

To deploy rules associated with promotions, make sure that the status of the promotion and its associated rules match.
