# Create Named Credentials

Named credentials offer a declarative and secure way to store and manage the credentials needed for HTTP callouts so that Salesforce can authenticate with external APIs.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: <strong>Developer</strong>, <strong>Enterprise</strong>, <strong>Performance</strong>, and <strong>Unlimited</strong> editions that have Loyalty Management enabled.</td></tr></tbody></table>

For more information about creating named credentials, see [Create or Edit a Named Credential](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.nc_create_edit_named_credential.htm&language=en_US&type=5).

You need named credentials for Google Wallet API and Google Sign JWT API to complete the integration. Use the following information to create the named credentials:

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small ">
      <thead class="slds-text-title_caps ">
        <tr><th class="slds-cell-wrap" scope="col" id="d12921e66">Field</th>
        <th class="slds-cell-wrap" scope="col" id="d12921e69">Value</th>
        <th class="slds-cell-wrap" scope="col" id="d12921e72">Value</th>
      </tr></thead>
      <tbody><tr class="">
        <td class="slds-cell-wrap" data-label="Field" headers="d12921e66">Name</td>
        <td class="slds-cell-wrap" data-label="Value" headers="d12921e69">Google_Wallet_API<p>Don’t alter this value.</p>
        </td>
        <td class="slds-cell-wrap" data-label="Value" headers="d12921e72">Google_Sign_JWT_API<p>Don’t alter this value.</p>
        </td>
      </tr>
      <tr class="">
        <td class="slds-cell-wrap" data-label="Field" headers="d12921e66">URL</td>
        <td class="slds-cell-wrap" data-label="Value" headers="d12921e69">https://walletobjects.googleapis.com. <p>Don’t alter this value.</p>
        </td>
        <td class="slds-cell-wrap" data-label="Value" headers="d12921e72">https://iamcredentials.googleapis.com.<p>Don’t alter this value.</p>
        </td>
      </tr>
      <tr class="">
        <td class="slds-cell-wrap" data-label="Field" headers="d12921e66">External Credential</td>
        <td class="slds-cell-wrap" data-label="Value" headers="d12921e69">Select the external credential that you created.</td>
        <td class="slds-cell-wrap" data-label="Value" headers="d12921e72">Select the external credential that you created.</td>
      </tr>
      <tr class="">
        <td class="slds-cell-wrap" data-label="Field" headers="d12921e66">Generate Authorization Header</td>
        <td class="slds-cell-wrap" data-label="Value" headers="d12921e69">Enable</td>
        <td class="slds-cell-wrap" data-label="Value" headers="d12921e72">Enable</td>
      </tr>
    </tbody></table>

## Enable External Credential Principals

After you create external credentials and principals, you must give permission sets and profiles access to the principals of the external credential. For more information on enabling external credentials, see [Enable External Credential Principals](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.nc_enable_ext_cred_principal.htm&language=en_US&type=5).

For the external user profile or community user profile, enable permissions for the following objects in Setup:

- User External Credential
- Digital Pass Template
- Digital Pass Template Parameters
- Digital Pass

For more information about object permissions, see [Edit Object Permissions in Profiles](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.perm_sets_object_perms_edit.htm&language=en_US&type=5).

Make sure that you assign sharing settings as Public Read Only for Digital Pass Template and Digital Pass objects. For more information on sharing settings, see [Edit Sharing Rules](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.security_sharing_rules_edit.htm&language=en_US&type=5).
