Invite users to Salesforce and the Salesforce add-on for Gmail. Before users can access the add-on, the add-on admin must coordinate with the Google Workspace admin to ensure the add-on is installed. Once installed, the add-on admin invites users of the same domain by entering their email addresses, and invited users receive an email to accept the invitation.

Invite a New Salesforce User
Invite a brand-new Salesforce user in your domain from Manage Users so they can use Salesforce in a browser and, after add-on access is in place, use the Salesforce add-on for Gmail.
- In the Salesforce add-on for Gmail, open Manage Users.
- Enter the user's email address and assign a user profile.
- Click Send Invitation.
Users who are new to Salesforce and haven’t been invited to the add-on before receive a welcome email for login.
The user appears with Invited status in the admin’s view of the add-on until the user accepts the invitation and logs in. The invited user is listed as User until they log into the org with Google from the Salesforce login page. After they connect to the add-on, their full name associated with their Gmail account will appear and their status changes to Active.
Refer below to the invitation experience for existing or previously invited users.
Invite an Existing Salesforce User
Existing Salesforce users who already use Salesforce in a browser still require a separate invitation to the add-on.
- In the Salesforce add-on for Gmail, open Manage Users.
-
Enter the user's email and assign a user profile.
If the user profile that you select differs from the user’s original Salesforce user profile, the new assignment is ignored.
- Click Send Invitation.
The user doesn’t receive a welcome email for this add-on invitation.
Deactivate and Reinvite Users
Deactivating a user in the add-on deactivates the user from both the add-on and the Salesforce org accessed in a browser.
To restore access:
-
Browser only: Reinvite the user from Setup.
-
Browser and add-on: Reinvite the user from the add-on in Manage Users.
Reinvitation doesn’t send a welcome email if the email has been used in the past to invite a user.
After a Salesforce admin invites a user, the user opens the Salesforce add-on for Gmail and clicks Connect.
