# Loyalty Management Promotion Limits

To keep promotions within budget and prevent fraud, marketing managers can set limits for both the overall promotion and individual customers on the Add Promotion Limits step of the wizard. In addition to Global Promotions Management limits, you can also add limits on the points awarded.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: Lightning Experience</td></tr><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: <strong>Enterprise</strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Performance</strong>, <strong>Unlimited</strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>Developer</strong>&nbsp;Editions with Loyalty Management</td></tr></tbody></table>

## Considerations for Setting Limits for Loyalty Promotions

- For Loyalty Management promotion templates, Accrual Events and Engagement Trail, you can set limits only at the promotion level, and only on vouchers and points.
- When you specify promotion-level limits for the Accrual Events template, Loyalty Management uses the limit framework to enforce limits. See [Limits Framework](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.loyalty_limits_framework.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "To handle high-volume, concurrent events, Loyalty Management provides a framework for enforcing limits on points and vouchers.").

## Limit Types

Here's the limit you can set on points for the overall promotion.

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small ">
        <colgroup>
          <col style="width:20%">
          <col style="width:40%">
          <col style="width:40%">
        </colgroup>
        <thead class="slds-text-title_caps ">
          <tr class="">
            <th scope="col" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" id="d16204e96">Limit Type</th>
            <th scope="col" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" id="d16204e99">What It Does</th>
            <th scope="col" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" id="d16204e102">Example</th>
          </tr>
        </thead>
        <tbody>
          <tr class="">
            <td data-label="Limit Type" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d16204e96 ">Points</td>

            <td data-label="What It Does" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d16204e99 ">
              <p>The maximum number of points that a promotion can credit across all eligible
                loyalty program members.</p>
              <p style="margin-bottom:0;">Marketing managers set limits for non-qualifying
                currencies and qualifying currencies.</p>
            </td>

            <td data-label="Example" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d16204e102 ">The promotion can't credit more than 500,000 points across eligible loyalty
              program members.</td>

          </tr>
        </tbody>
      </table>

Here's the limit that you can set on points for each customer.

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small ">
        <colgroup>
          <col style="width:20%">
          <col style="width:40%">
          <col style="width:40%">
        </colgroup>
        <thead class="slds-text-title_caps ">
          <tr class="">
            <th scope="col" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" id="d16204e141">Limit Type</th>
            <th scope="col" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" id="d16204e144">What It Does</th>
            <th scope="col" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" id="d16204e147">Example</th>
          </tr>
        </thead>
        <tbody>
          <tr class="">
            <td data-label="Limit Type" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d16204e141 ">Points</td>

            <td data-label="What It Does" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d16204e144 ">
              <p>Marketing managers decide the maximum number of points that each loyalty
                program member gets from the promotion.</p>
              <p style="margin-bottom:0;">Marketing managers set limits for
                non-qualifying currencies and qualifying currencies.</p>
            </td>

            <td data-label="Example" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d16204e147 ">The promotion can't credit more than 100 tier points to a single
              customer.</td>

          </tr>
        </tbody>
      </table>
