Before you begin:

- To successfully export a policy from one org to another, ensure that the objects and fields targeted by the policy are present in the new org.
- If you create a policy in a pre-release sandbox, you can't import the policy to your production org until your production org is on the new release version. For example, a policy from a Spring '25 sandbox isn't compatible with a Winter '25 production org. Because policies gain new features and enhancements with each release, they're incompatible with prior-release orgs.

This task involves separate steps to complete in your sandbox and your production org.

Complete these steps in the org that you want to export the policy from.

1. In Privacy Center, click the **Privacy Policies** tab.
2. Locate the policy you want to export, click the associated dropdown arrow, and then click **Import or Export**.

The policy export page opens in a new browser tab, with the Policy Id field prepopulated.
3. Click **Export**.

The policy payload is generated in the Exported Policy field.
4. Copy the entire string for the exported policy.

Complete these steps in the org that you want to import the policy to.

- From the Privacy Policies list page, click **Import or Export**.
- Click the **Import Policy** tab.
- In the Policy to Import field, paste the string for the policy that you exported.
- Click **Import**.

The policy is now available for use in the new org.
