# Create a Loyalty Tier

Create a loyalty tier to categorize members based on their activities in the loyalty program.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: Lightning Experience in&nbsp;<strong>Enterprise</strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Performance</strong>, <strong>Developer</strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>Unlimited</strong>&nbsp;Editions that have Loyalty Management enabled.</td></tr></tbody></table>

1. In the Loyalty Programs tab, open your program name.
2. On the Setup tab, select a Loyalty Tier Group.
3. Under Loyalty Tiers, click **New**.
4. Enter a name, description, and sequence number.
    
    The sequence number indicates the tier's ranking. The tier with the highest sequence number indicates the highest tier.
    
    If you want to use tiers as resources in conditions of loyalty program process rules, ensure tier names don’t contain special characters.
5. Save your changes.

Note If you rename an existing tier, you must manually update the tier name in the associated Loyalty Member Tier object records.
