# Create a Dataset Link

A decision table can decide the outcome for object records specified as dataset links. A dataset link defines a mapping between a decision table’s input fields and fields in a source object.

### Required Editions

You can create a dataset link and specify which field in Transaction\_\_c source object maps to which field in the decision table. When the decision table is executed, Transaction\_\_c is passed as an input to the decision table.

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Decision Tables, and then select **Decision Tables**.
2. Select your decision table.
3. Under Dataset Links, click **New**.
4. Enter a name and description for the dataset link.
5. Select the source object **Transaction Journal**.
6. Map the input field **Product Name** in your decision table to the **Booked FareClass** field in the source object.
7. Save your changes.
8. To activate the decision table, click **Activate**.
