Before you begin, make sure that the custom notification types you want to subscribe to are enabled for the mobile delivery channel. You can use Notification Builder in Setup to configure a notification type for the mobile delivery channel. See [Manage Notification Delivery Settings](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.notif_builder_delivery_settings.htm&language=en_US).

1. In External Client App Manager, [create an external client app](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.create_a_local_external_client_app.htm&language=en_US).
2. [Enable the OAuth plugin](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.enable_oauth_plugin.htm&language=en_US) for the external client app. Enabling OAuth is required for sending notifications.
3. In the external client app’s settings, click **Notification Settings** to expand the section.
4. Select **Enable Notifications**.
5. In the list under Notification Subscriptions, subscribe to notification types by selecting the toggle next to the title of the notification type.
