# Configure the External Client App’s Mobile App Settings and Policies

The mobile app plugin for an external client app enables mobile-specific features, such as screen lock upon a custom timeout value. Configure the external client app’s mobile app settings and policies in External Client App Manager.

### Required Editions

1. In External Client App Manager, [create an external client app](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.create_a_local_external_client_app.htm&language=en_US).
2. In the external client app’s settings, click **Mobile App Settings** to expand the section.
3. Select **Enable Mobile**.
4. To enable screen lock of the app upon timeout, select **Screen lock**.

    Note You configure the timeout value in Step 8.
5. Click **Create**.
6. Return to the list of external client apps in External Client App Manager, and then click the external client app that you created.
7. Click **Mobile App Policies** to expand the section.
8. In the **Lock Screen After** field, select the amount of time after which the mobile app locks and requires the app user to reauthenticate.
9. Save your work.
