Transit Time in Price Protection

Transit Time tracks expected movement durations for partner inventory between locations. Price Protection calculations include in-transit inventory to ensure accurate claims and maintain financial traceability.

  • In-Transit Quantity Applicability: Enable Price Protection to include in-transit inventory by selecting the In Transit Quantity Applicable checkbox in the Rebate Type record and the Is Payable checkbox in the Price Protection Term. The Eligible Quantity automatically reflects in-transit amounts.
  • Price Changes During Transit: If a product price changes while inventory is in transit, a new child bucket is created during claim generation. This ensures that financial calculations are accurate and properly account for inventory shipped under previous pricing.
  • Processing Steps: Clone the Ready_to_Use_CalcClaimAmount expression set template, activate it, and attach it to the Program Rebate Type. After DPE execution, run the Update Product Pricing for Price Protection flow to calculate pricing differences and move the PPE/PPELI status to Ready for Claim. When the status is Ready for Claim, generate the rebate claim. The PPE status updates to Complete.
  • DPE Execution Considerations: During DPE processing, in-transit inventory is stamped and included in all relevant steps, such as ledger updates and claim calculations. Ensure that Transit Time and Account Lead Time records are correctly set up before executing DPEs for Price Protection. Inventory without matching records is treated as immediately available and may not be properly included in calculations.
Note
Note To ensure all in-transit inventory is correctly processed during Price Protection calculations, use Winter ’26 versions of DPEs.
