# Migrate an Existing Data Processing Engine Template to Data Cloud

Migrating the existing Rebate Data Processing Engine (DPE) template to Data Cloud involves exporting the definition as a JSON file, modifying specific metadata tags to change the execution engine, and importing it back into the Salesforce environment as a Data Cloud-native DPE.

### Required Editions

To migrate a DPE template to Data Cloud, complete these tasks in order.

1. 2. [Modify the JSON Configuration](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.chrm_data_cloud_modify_json_config.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Update the keys in the exported Data Processing Engine (DPE) template JSON so that the definition targets Data Cloud instead of CRM Analytics."): Update specific structural parameters in the JSON configuration file via a text editor.
3.
