# Initialize the New Target Engine Container

Create a baseline target Data Processing Engine (DPE) definition that runs on Data Cloud. This container receives the modified JSON configuration that you import in the next step.

### Required Editions

Modify the JSON configuration. See [Modify the JSON Configuration](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.chrm_data_cloud_modify_json_config.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Update the keys in the exported Data Processing Engine (DPE) template JSON so that the definition targets Data Cloud instead of CRM Analytics.").

1. Return to the Salesforce Data Processing Engine setup homepage.
2. Click the **New** button in the upper-right corner.
3. In the New Data Processing Engine Definition wizard, configure the baseline parameters.
    1. For **Name**, enter your target definition name.
    2. For **API Name**, accept the generated value or enter a unique API name.
    3. For **Process Type**, select **Standard**.
    4. For **Description**, enter technical reference details as required.
4. Click **Next**.
5. For **Runtime Platform**, choose **Data Cloud**.

    Note Don't choose CRM Analytics.
6. Click **Next**.
7. For **Runtime Execution Object Type**, select **Data Lake Object**.
8. Click **Done**.
    
    The target engine container is initialized in Data Cloud.

Next, import the structural overrides.
