When you create a manual adjustment with a Partner Inventory Item Reconciliation (PIIR) record as the transaction reference, the system doesn’t enforce validation between the transaction date and the reported date of the PIIR record. Adjustments are processed even when the dates don’t match. This behavior can result in updates being applied across reporting periods.

Note
Note The system doesn't enforce date alignment between the transaction date and the PIIR reported date. Adjustments can update quantities and close reconciliation records even when the dates differ.

To maintain accurate reconciliation:

  • Ensure that the transaction date matches the reported date of the PIIR record.
  • Add validations in your implementation, such as at the user interface layer, to prevent mismatched dates.

Use this process to rectify any errors or inaccuracies in inventory tracking. You can override the remaining quantity of unsold inventory that is calculated using the Upsert Partner Unsold Inventory Ledgers using Transaction Journals Data Processing Engine. See Data Processing Engine Templates with Channel Partner Inventory Tracking.

If there is a matching PUI, or if the quantity is more than the PUI remaining quantities, the transaction journal results in an error even after DPE process completes successfully. Resolve errors for a transaction journal by manually adjusting the transaction.

For information on creating a transaction journal, see Create a Transaction Journal.

  1. From the App Launcher, find and select Partner Unsold Inventories.
  2. Select the product and account listed in the corresponding transaction journal.
  3. Enter the sale price of one unit of the product mentioned in the transaction journal.
  4. Enter the original quantity of inventory mentioned in the transaction journal.
  5. For the Transaction Reference, select the transaction journal for which we are creating the partner unsold inventory record.
  6. Save the information.
A Partner Unsold Inventory record is created. This record does not display the remaining or on-hold quantities of products based on the sale records in the transaction journals.
  7. To create a partner unsold inventory ledger record, navigate to the Related tab.
  8. From the Partner Unsold Inventory Ledgers section, select New.
  9. Select the Source Type as Sale Document.
  10. Select the Transaction Type as Credit. Choices are:
Credit Based on the source type, select the transaction type. For example, if the source type is Sale Document, the transaction type is of type Credit.
Debit Based on the source type, select the transaction type. For example, if the source type is Point of Sale Document, the transaction type is of type Debit.
  11. Select the parent record.
  12. Select the corresponding Partner Unsold Inventory record.
  13. Select the Status as Approved. The options are:
On Hold Temporary status till the transaction is approved or rejected.
Approved If the transaction is approved.
Rejected If the transaction is rejected.
Moved In case of a change in the unit price, a new partner unsold inventory record is created and the existing units are moved to the new one.
  14. For the Transaction Reference, select the corresponding Transaction Journal.
When the unit price changes, a price bucket is created. In that scenario, select the Partner Unsold Inventory option.
  15. Select the Transaction Date.
For reconciliations, ensure this date matches the Reported Date of the referenced PIIR record. The system does not enforce this alignment at the API level to maintain flexibility for non-reconciliation adjustments.
  16. Click Save.
If the Transaction Type is Credit, the Remaining Quantity field on the Partner Unsold Inventory record is updated to reflect the quantity of inventory that is not yet sold.
