# Create Partner Inventory Reconciliations Based on Partner Reported Inventory Data

The Create Partner Inventory Reconciliations data processing engine (DPE) definition creates partner inventory reconciliation and partner inventory item reconciliation records based on valid partner reported inventory in partner staged data records. After you capture partner reported inventory data in the partner staged data object, run this DPE definition to create the reconciliation records.

Here are the high-level steps in the DPE template.

1. Get details of partner staged data records, and filter the records that are new and contain partner reported inventory data.
2. Validate the partner staged data records to ensure that they include account, sale price, product, and quantity details.
3. Create partner inventory reconciliation records for the valid partner staged data records, with each partner inventory reconciliation record representing the reconciliation of a partner's reported inventory with the partner's calculated unsold inventory on a specific date.
4. Create partner inventory reconciliation item records for the valid partner staged data records, with each partner inventory reconciliation item record representing a reconciliation for a product at a location for a particular price.
5. Update the statuses and status messages of the invalid partner staged data records.

Example For example, a distributor reports inventory for three products at their New York warehouse through the partner portal. This reported data is captured as new records in the partner staged data object. When the DPE runs, it validates the records to ensure each includes the product, quantity, sale price, and associated account. Since the data is valid, the DPE creates a partner inventory reconciliation record dated May 15, 2025, comparing the distributor's reported inventory with the system-calculated unsold inventory. It also generates individual reconciliation item records for each of the three products at the New York location. If one of the records had missing sale price data, the DPE would skip reconciliation for that item and update the record status with an error message.
