A Lightning web component can use a mobile device’s built-in features to enhance the functionality of your branded mobile apps.

Note Features developed using Lightning web components can’t function when running in a web browser, whether running on a desktop or mobile device.

- **[App Permissions for Device Capabilities](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.branded_apps_permissions.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
If your app has features that need access to mobile device capabilities, your app users must explicitly grant access to these capabilities. For example, if your app supports taking photos, then your app must ask for camera permissions. Set up the permissions that your app needs in your Mobile Publisher project.
- **[Scan Barcodes with a Mobile Device Camera](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.branded_apps_commun_barcode.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Mobile Publisher for Experience Cloud app supports scanning barcodes, such as a UPC symbol or QR codes.
- **[Implement and Use Location-Based Features](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.branded_apps_commun_location.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Show the current position on a map, provide directions, save the location when creating or updating a record, and otherwise add location awareness to your branded mobile apps.
- **[Implement a Contact Import Feature](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.branded_apps_commun_contacts.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Create a customized contact import feature, create or update records with contact data, or otherwise reduce the friction of adding contact information from a mobile device.
- **[Access the Mobile Device Calendar](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.branded_apps_commun_calendar.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Create a calendar import feature to manage events from one location, use preferred calendar apps, and save time from manually maintaining events or meetings in separate calendars.
- **[Request App Ratings and Reviews](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.branded_apps_feedback_plugin.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Create an app review feature to prompt users to rate and submit reviews of your app to the app stores (Apple and Google). An app review feature lets you ask your users for feedback on their experience using your app. Their feedback can help improve your app experience, encourage downloads, and improve your app’s discoverability.
- **[Identify a User with a Mobile Device’s Biometrics Capabilities](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.branded_apps_commun_biometrics.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
To access a device’s native biometrics functionality for additional authentication, develop a Lightning web component for your Experience Cloud app that uses BiometricsService API.
