# Testing

This information helps you troubleshoot when testing Mobile Publisher apps.

Testing

Mobile Publisher for Experience Cloud

- Automate UI testing with UTAM (UI Test Automation Model). For more information, see [Test with the UI Test Automation Model (UTAM) for Your App](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.branded_apps_exp_utam.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Testing is paramount in getting your Mobile Publisher apps working as intended. Salesforce already uses UTAM to speed up UI testing, and we want you to have the tools available to thoroughly test your apps.").
- Although testing in the beta app is an acceptable practice, don’t use it as the initial go-to for testing. Use the [Publisher Playground app](https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=branded_apps_playground.htm&language=en_US) to view and test your Experience Cloud sites in an app environment.
- When you create a site for testing in a sandbox, ensure that the underlying technology is the same as the site in production. For example, if your production site uses an LWR template, your sandbox site must use the same LWR template. And if your production site uses an Aura template, the sandbox site must use the same Aura template.
- Sandbox URLs can change after a sandbox refresh, so keep this possibility in mind. If the sandbox URL changes, a new beta app submission is required with the updated sandbox URL.
- Test the production ready Experience Cloud site in a mobile browser setting before submitting the app for approval.
- Before distributing to the branded app, test out the Experience Cloud site in a mobile browser on an actual mobile device and fix any layout or functional issues.
- Test URL behavior on both Android and iOS to verify that links open consistently across platforms. In particular, test links to external sites that share the same domain as your Experience Cloud site, and verify that authentication flows such as MFA and SAML complete without unexpected redirects. For more information, see [Manage How URLs Open from Your App](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.branded_apps_commun_url_manage.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "In your app’s Setup for Mobile Publisher project, use the URL Management section to configure how URLs open from your Mobile Publisher for Experience Cloud app.").
- Locate the version number of your app for reference when testing.
    - Android
        1. Long press (tap and hold your finger down) on the app icon.
        2. Tap on **i**.
        3. Tap **View the app version**.
    - iOS
        1. Go to the iOS Settings app.
        2. Search for your app by name.
        3. To show the version number, tap on your app.
