If you want to credit points to members for updating their membership details, create and activate a loyalty program process that credits points to members. The process type of the loyalty program process must be TransactionJournal and the journal type and subtype of the process must be a unique combination.

  1. From the App Launcher, find and select Loyalty Management.
  2. On the Loyalty Program list view, open the loyalty program for which you want to create the process.
  3. Click Loyalty Processes.
  4. On the Loyalty Program Processes related list, click New.
  5. Select Create from Template and click Next.
  6. Select Update Member Details and click Next.
  7. Enter a name for the loyalty program process.
  8. To credit points to members for updating their membership details, select the same journal type and journal subtype as that of the process that credits points to members for updating their membership details.
  9. Save your changes.

A loyalty program process is created and it contains rule named Update Member Details. The process also contains parameters that are used in the rule. The rule contains two steps, one to update member’s Loyalty Program Member record and another to update member’s related Contact record. If you selected a journal type and subtype for the process, then a third step, Credit Points, is added to the rule. The Credit Points rule step runs the loyalty program process that you had already created to credit points to members for updating their membership details.

You can update the Update Member Details step based on your requirements or create additional rules for the process.
