# Schedule When Your Backup Runs

Choose when and how often you want your backups to run to minimize the impact on your business.

### Required Editions

1. In Salesforce Backup & Recover Next, click the **Settings** tab.
2. From the navigation bar on the left, click **Scheduled Backups**.
3. Choose a backup **Frequency**.
    
    Only the first backup of the day includes special objects. For more information on these objects, see [Salesforce Backup & Recover Next Considerations](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.backup_recover_considerations.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Before using Salesforce Backup & Recover Next, review these considerations.")
4. Select the **Time (UTC)** to run backups.

- **[Pause Scheduled Backups](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.backup_recover_pause_backups.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**  
    Pause and resume scheduled backups as needed. On-demand backups, compare, restore, and other app activities are still available when your scheduled backups are paused.
