# Back Up Data with Salesforce Backup and Recover

To maintain the integrity of your org, Saleforce Backup and Recover creates daily backups of data, attached files, metadata, managed packages, and sandboxes. Backup and Recover also highlights unusual data activity so you can quickly find and fix data errors or mismanagement incidents.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col style="width:100%"></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: <strong>Enterprise</strong>, <strong>Unlimited</strong>, and <strong>Developer</strong> Editions with the Salesforce Backup and Recover add-on license.</td></tr></tbody></table>

Backup and Recover has precise data restoration capabilities. After an event, Backup and Recover compares your org's data to identify any modifications. This feature ensures that you only recover the specific objects, fields, and records that were affected. This granular level of control saves time and also prevents unintended data overwrites. Through secure cloud-to-cloud backups and independent data storage, you can stay connected to your backup data from anywhere without interruption.

Backup and Recover simplifies compliance with industry and government regulations such as data privacy. For rapidly changing data, Backup and Recover offers Continuous Data Protection, which minimizes data corruption or loss during recovery. This comprehensive approach to data protection ensures business continuity, minimizes downtime, and maintains data integrity.
