# Exclude Files and Attachments from Backups

Backing up files and attachments makes sure that backups are as true and accurate as possible for recovery. If backups of files and attachments aren’t necessary in your case, you can remove them for improved backup times.

### Required Editions

To exclude files and attachments from your backups:

1. In Salesforce Backup & Recover Next, click the **Settings** tab.
2. From the navigation bar on the left, click **Files and Attachments**.
3. Turn off **Include Files and Attachments**.
