The Assign Member Tier Benefits is a flow action used as part of tier assessment. The action creates, updates, or expires records in the Member Benefits table. The action is based on the tiers associated with member benefits that include a defined Benefit Action.

Based on the tiers assigned to a member, the Assign Member Tier Benefits action determines the benefits that must be assigned. The action also resolves if there’s any conflict in the benefit assignment based on the Priority Sequence. For benefits that have a defined Benefit Action, the action creates or updates records in the Member Benefits table. The action calculates the start date and end date of the benefit, and it updates the status of the member benefit records. The various statuses of the member benefits are:
- New – Awaiting Processing: The status indicates that a new member benefit is created, but the benefit action is yet to be processed.
- Updated – Awaiting Processing: The status indicates that member benefit is updated, but the benefit action is yet to be processed.
- Expired – Awaiting Processing: The status indicates that member benefit is updated for expiration, but the benefit action is yet to be processed.
- Processed: The status indicates that the benefit action is processed successfully.
- Expired: The status indicates that the benefit has been expired and the benefit action is processed successfully.
As part of tier processing flow, after the tiers are assigned, you can stitch the Assign Member Tier Benefits action to the flow to assign benefits for a member. The flow must have Member Benefit ID as the input variable. The flow gets executed whenever a benefit action is processed. Depending on the status of the member benefit, the benefits are created or updated or expired.
- For example, when a member changes from Silver to Gold tier and is eligible for Priority Support, a service entitlement record is created in the Service Cloud.
- If the tier is evaluated for a member in the program and the same benefit is retained for the
member. You can extend the end date of the service entitlement to the end date of member benefit
through the same benefit action. For Member Benefit Update Record, provide these field values in
the Flow:
- ID of the record created by the member benefit in PrimaryRefObjectRecord .
- Title of the record created by the member benefit in PrimaryRefObjectRecordTitle.
- If the tier is evaluated for a member in the program and finds that the benefit is no longer applicable to the member. You can expire the benefits in the Service Cloud through the same benefit action.
If the benefit action is configured to issue voucher for new member benefit, then the benefit action doesn’t support update or expiry for the issued vouchers.
