# Set Up Actionable Lists for Product Service Campaign

Set up and configure Actionable Lists features to help service managers create lists of assets that must be included in product service campaigns. To set up actionable lists, assign the required permissions to users, turn on the features in Setup, and configure the data sources for actionable lists based on your business needs. You can create actionable lists from two data sources: actionable list definitions and Data Cloud segments.

## Configure an Actionable List Definition for Product Service Campaigns

To create actionable lists of assets, asset data must be stored in a dataset that combines and consolidates asset data from multiple objects. Create an actionable list definition to determine how asset data is transformed from multiple objects and stored in the dataset. Service managers can use actionable list definitions to create actionable lists for product service campaigns. Each actionable list is associated with a data processing engine definition that defines the logic of the data aggregation and transformation. You can configure the display format of the asset data and statuses in actionable lists definitions.

1. Assign user permissions, object permissions, and tab visibility permissions for Actionable Segmentation and Data Processing Engine to admins who configure actionable list definitions and to users who create actionable lists.

See [Assign Permission Sets for Actionable Segmentation](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.actionable_segmentation_assign_permissions.htm&type=5&language=en_US) and [Set Tab Visibility and Assign Object Permissions](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.actionable_segmentation_tab_visibility.htm&type=5&language=en_US).
2. To manage actionable list features, turn on Actionable Segmentation in Setup.

    See [Enable Actionable Segmentation](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.actionable_segmentation_enable_feature.htm&type=5&language=en_US) .
3. Create an actionable list definition to create the dataset that users can create actionable lists from.
    1. Create a data processing engine definition of the Actionable List process type to associate with the actionable list definition that you create.

Ensure that you add a data source node for the Asset object to the definition. Also, create a writeback object in the definition with the Analytics target type and ActionableSegementation folder. See [Create an Actionable List Definition](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.actionable_segmentation_create_list_definition.htm&type=5&language=en_US) .
    2. Use the Data Processing Engine definition to create the actionable list definition.
    3. Select the fields from the associated dataset, and sort the display order of the columns.

The fields are displayed as columns on the actionable list created by using the actionable list definition. For example, display the Asset, Owner, and Install Date columns on actionable lists that use an actionable definition. See [Select Default Visible Columns for Actionable Lists](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.actionable_segmentation_select_columns.htm&type=5&language=en_US) .
    4. Set the display and input format of the columns that are displayed on the actionable list.

For example, the Asset Name column on an actionable list uses the Text column format and Text filter input format. See [Set the Display Format for Actionable List Columns](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.actionable_segmentation_display_format.htm&type=5&language=en_US) .
    5. Configure actionable list member statuses.

See [Configure Actionable List Member Statuses](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.actionable_segmentation_configure_listmember_status.htm&type=5&language=en_US).
    6. Activate the actionable list definition.

        See [Activate Actionable List Definitions](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.actionable_segmentation_activate_list_definition.htm&type=5&language=en_US).

## Configure Data Cloud Segments for Product Service Campaigns

Build a segment of assets in a product service campaign in Data Cloud that service managers can use to create an actionable list. You must build the segment on the Asset data model object (DMO). You must choose the attributes available on the Asset DMO that you can use as columns and filters for actionable lists.

1. Assign user permission, object permissions, and tab visibility permissions for List Builder for Data Cloud and for Data Cloud to admins who configure Data Cloud segments and to users who create actionable lists.
2. Enable Data Cloud as an actionable list data source.

See [Enable and Set Up List Builder for Data Cloud Segment](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.list_builder_for_data_cloud_segment_enable_data_cloud.htm&type=5&language=en_US).
3. Ensure that your Data Cloud admin has created segments in Data Cloud.

See [Create a Segment in Data Cloud](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_create_a_segment.htm&type=5&language=en_US).
